Since 1995, at Aldora Divers we pride ourselves for giving the best experience and service available anywhere while diving the beautiful and diverse reefs in Cozumel, providing long dives by using high capacity steel tanks, which provides 50% more air, and computer aided multi-level dives. Our average dive bottom time is over 70 minutes per tank, which is about double than the standard on the Island.
With our high capacity tanks (up to 50% more air than the regular Aluminum 80cf tanks) to the required use of dive computers for multilevel dives, you'll have plenty of air and more comfort due to very little extra weight needed.
In addition to the extra dive time, our dive trips launch at 7:30 am, meaning we are the first boats on the water, and we can take you first to only the best dive sites to far south, north and east of Cozumel, in small groups of divers of similar experience and level.
Smaller group sizes paired by experience and similar interests of 6 divers per boat, suited to your skill level. Also, all of our dive guides are PADI SCUBA Instructors.
At Aldora we limit our dive group sizes to 6 divers per boat. To a maximum of 7 divers in special circumstances. We do a great effort to accommodate all divers in the group with similar experience level and interests. It can't always be perfect, but we do a very good job in planning the groups, and that way we can always take our divers to the very best dive sites with a similar level of skills, interests, gas and air consumption. Most other places have an extra charge for what Aldora offers every day, and we pride ourselves on this service of keeping experienced and novice divers separated across our 8 boats.
In 2002, our ALDORA SPECIAL OPERATIONS division, began exploration of other areas of Cozumel that have remained un-explored. Providing an exclusive experience to their divers. Offering a multitude of newly identified and pristine dive sites at the Winward Side and the North End of the island.
One of our greatest Aldora Adventures dive trip is "The Caves of Sleeping Sharks", which large Caribbean reef sharks can be found sleeping in a somewhat catatonic state.
This is the place where the fabled Isla Mujeres Sleeping sharks ran and hid. Not only the sharks, but the pristine coral formations with squadrons of eagle rays and other pelagic abound there. —you must view our video to believe it!
We are also the only shop on the Island to offer dives to the beautiful East Side of the island when weather permits.
Aldora is the only diving facility that provides organized and safe diving on North and Eastern side of the island.
Focus on Quality Dive Sites, Gear Cleaning and Management throughout your stay - just leave your gear on the boat. Dedicated Dive Guides and Naturalists. Long Surface Intervals - usually at Palancar beach club. Plus, we are the only ones to take you to the east side of the island in case of bad weather on the west side.
We are very selective in choosing our dive guides, all of them are PADI Instructors and highly trained scuba diving professionals. If you haven't been diving in a while, they can help you to regain confidence and get comfortable before getting in the water again. If you're a seasoned diver, they can help you improve your skills with continuous education certifications and techniques or give you the best experience diving the beautiful and diverse reefs of Cozumel.
In Aldora, we have the infrastructure of a big operation, but the personal service and attention to customer detail of a small one.
Running dive trips every day, we can organize afternoon, twilight and night dives every day, but be advised, we guarantee nights dives to our customers, booking in advance, twice a week; Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing at dusk.
Aldora has set the bar of service much higher than previously available. We have a "Hurricane Insurance", which will provide free diving in the future in case you have days missed on your trip, "Guaranteed diving no matter what…" that means, when time and weather allows, we move our operation to the Winward side of the island.
On top of that, we provide fleece lined dive parkas to keep you cozy and warm on the boat, while commuting. Our crew provide a full service where they will assemble, disassemble, pack, rinse, clean, and store overnight all of your equipment, and have it all set up and ready on the boat for you the next morning.
The charge for our Aldora service, for a two-tanks morning or afternoon dive trip, is $95 plus taxes and marine park fees. For a night dive is $60. It's a bit on the more expensive side than other dive shops on the island, but cheapest by far if you calculate the cost per hour of diving, and our first-class level of service. So, why pay a little more to dive with Aldora? See it as a small premium that is like insurance—Aldora Insurance that you will have a fantastic dive trip regardless of any situation, and Aldora and only Aldora Divers can take you to this very special places and those who have been in Cozumel many times before, have only seen half of it.
We have 6 speed boats with twin Yamaha outboard engines, a 40ft diesel powered boat and a small utility boat to take you quicker and safer to the dive sites.
All our boats are equipped with O2 Kits and EFR kits, GPS and emergency marine radio. Also both Captains and Dive Guides are EFR certified.
